Target audience
Employees who must work with a rotary telescopic handler and move suspended loads with adapted lifting equipment on a company site, in installations, stacking at a distance and in height, driving and stacking in limited space, under time pressure, in the vicinity of important installations, loading and unloading of truck, in places with movement of people and/or other means of traffic.
Eligibility Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a certificate of medical fitness .
Program
The training takes half a day
The exam theory lasts 30 minutes
The exam practice lasts about 30-45 minutes
Results
Theory
Being able to explain what a telescopic handler is and knowing the different applications.
To be able to enumerate the tasks for which a telescopic handler can be used.
To be able to recognize the related means of transport for horizontal and vertical transport.
To be able to recognize the different kinds of pallets and storage methods.
To explain the important concepts regarding the construction of the telescopic handler.
To correctly interpret the basic regulations concerning the use of a telescopic handler with a lifting function.
To be able to correctly interpret the safety and traffic regulations.
To know what to pay attention to when lifting loads.
To be able to summarise the factors which can influence stability.
To be able to interpret the different regulatory hand and arm signals.
To be able to interpret a loading diagram.
Be able to list the components of the starting control.
To be able to carry out a Last Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA).
Practice
The ability to perform a start control.
Perform slalom, forward and backward with 4 wheel steering.
Driving forwards and backwards with a hanging load through a narrow passage.
Being able to pick up a high load on the forks, move it and drop it.
Depositing and lifting various loads with the forks at a height.
Striking a long lying load (at least 4 m), straightening it and depositing it in another indicated direction.
Moving a suspended load through a slalom.
To be able to neutralise the swaying of a load.
Park a telescopic handler in a designated place.
